Greg Haywood is the Head of HSE’s Asbestos Licensing Unit (ALU). As Head of ALU, Greg is responsible, working closely with operational inspectors, for granting and revoking licences to work with asbestos. He has worked for HSE for over 20 years, as an operational inspector and as a Principal inspector, covering a range of occupations.

Greg also has much experience of European occupational safety and health matters, having been seconded to the Finnish Ministry for Social Affairs and Health in 2000 and from 2003 to 2006 he was a project manager with the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work in Bilbao, Spain. During this time he was been responsible for the management and production of Agency products, including the European Week for Safety and Health at Work 2004 on construction and a project concerning economic performance and safety and health. Additionally he was responsible for collecting health and safety data across EU Member States.
