    Stephen is the Presidential Elect of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH). He has been a Member of the IOSH Council of Management for five years and sat on the Nominations Committee and CPD Sub Committee. He was the founding Chairman of the IOSH South Downs Branch.

    He is a company Director of The Granger Partnership Ltd and a Chartered Member of the Institute of Occupational Health. He provides occupational safety and health guidance and solutions through audit and inspection, consultation, development of documentation, training workshops and exercises. He is a firm advocate of finding realistic solutions to managing organisational risk.

    He is currently the Health and Safety Curriculum Manager for the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) and provides examination services to the National Examination Board for Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH).

    As well as the day to day OSH management activities Stephen has provided management advice in relation to Civil Emergencies and Business Continuity Management to public and private sector clients. He is a qualified lecturer and experienced in providing advice and training for staff, managers and directors, as well as safety professionals and has been the Chairman of regional community forums on fire safety as well as OSH.

    He served an engineering apprenticeship in the Royal Navy, has lectured and managed professional qualification courses in Occupational Safety and Health and was responsible for the Facilities Management, Business Continuity and Occupational Safety and Health services for a local Authority.

    Stephen has a passion to make the practice of health and safety easily understood so that everyone can contribute to looking after themselves, other people and their employers business. He has no time for ‘silly safety’ but believes in better business through practical risk management and proportionate risk control.

    He and his wife Carol own a small organic retail business in Sussex, where they live and enjoy wildlife conservation work.
