John is a Chartered Fellow of I.O.S.H. and is a Former President of the Institution.  He continues to remain active within I.O.S.H. and is currently Chairman of the Construction Group.    He is also an Honorary Fellow of the Association of Project Safety working on competence standards, a Fellow of the Safety Institute of Australia and a Member of the American Society of Safety Engineers.

With over 35 years within the health and safety management environment, John has built up his knowledge from practical hands on experience.  John is the Managing Director and Founder of Lincsafe (Health & Safety) Ltd and also Technical Director of the WSP Group.  Working as Safety Consultant for various national construction organisations and process operators, his contribution to Health & Safety is that of being an “enabler” not “preventer” and he sees safety as an integral part of business not to be set up as a separate issue.

John is an international lecturer in Health and Safety and has trained and mentored personnel at all levels from operatives to boardroom executives and those aspiring to become Safety Practitioners.  A ‘people’ person is one of John’s major attributes, not only to relate to individuals but also to national seminars and organisations.

In addition to giving advice, John has been involved as a Working Party Member on the revised CDM Regulations and CITB Training Standards Group. John has edited and contributed to technical journals and gives ‘expert witness’ when required.
