New PPE Combines Specs And Disposable Respirator

A new concept in eye and respiratory protection has been developed by JSP that solves the problem of incompatible safety spectacles and disposable masks. Worn together, safety spectacles and masks often reduce each other’s effectiveness because eyewear frames compromise the seal of the mask and lead to lens misting and reduced respiratory protection. FilterSpec combines both protective devices into an integrated unit, allowing them to work harmoniously to provide optimum wearer comfort and protection.

The wrap around one-piece lens in a fully adjustable frame is anti-mist and anti-scratch coated as standard, and conforms to EN166.1F. The mask holder and filter weigh less than 60g including an integral exhaust valve which is aligned with the wearer’s nose. Venting exhaled air directly in this way keeps lenses clear of fogging, makes the mask cooler and drier inside, and creates a more comfortable and durable PPE solution. FilterSpec is sold with three replacement masks, and new straps and filters (units of 10) are available separately.

The mask is in four variations, making it suitable for working environments as diverse as veterinary, medical and dentistry, or construction, cleaning and automotive. Options include an FMP2 mask with a protection factor of 10, an FMP2V mask with the addition of an exhalation valve to increase comfort over prolonged use, an FMP2OV mask with an activated carbon layer for when odours exist which are below the workplace exposure limits, and an FMP3V mask with exhalation valve, and a protection factor of 20.

FilterSpec is a practical, inexpensive and durable new option, and means that only one piece of PPE is required for storage, maintenance and resupply when before there were two. Further information is available from :- www.jsp.co.uk Tel:- UK 01993 826050.
